Council performance indicators
In Tower Hamlets we’re always striving to
improve the quality of life for everyone who lives and works in the
borough. We’re committed to providing excellent services, as our
residents deserve no less.
To help us track our progress we use specific
measures, called performance indicators. We set ambitious targets
for key areas, and then track our progress against these targets
regularly throughout the year.
All performance indicators used by Tower
Hamlets are split into two main sets, reflecting their importance
to local people:
- Strategic indicators - these represent key
priorities (for example educational attainment, employment, health,
crime, the environment, and older people) and include all LAA indicators; and
- Priority indicators - these include all other
National indicators selected by government to assess performance in
an area.
Progress against our targets is reported to
senior managers and Members, who offer support to help us get back
on track as soon as possible. This is really important, as the
people who rely most on our services are often the most
vulnerable.
We report on our progress to residents in our
community newspaper, East End Life, and on our website. The latest
performance summary can be found here.
