Local public service agreements (LPSAs)
The overall aim of LPSAs was to improve the
delivery of local public services by focusing on targeted outcomes
with government support.
In April 2005 Tower Hamlets council agreed a
LPSA with the government. This agreement was based on the premise
that Tower Hamlets:
- would work towards accelerated improvements
in particular areas of service delivery
- would be supported by Government with pump priming funds
- would be rewarded with additional funds for meeting challenging
targets by March 2008
