Pre-Games training camps
The Olympic marathon, Paralympic marathon and walking race
will take place in Tower Hamlets, which is also home to the
headquarters of the London Organising committee for the Olympic
Games (LOCOG) and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) -
making it the ideal venue to prepare for the London 2012
Games.
LOCOG have accredited three venues in Tower
Hamlets to host international athletes to train in the Olympic
sports of athletics, basketball, fencing and boxing. All our
accredited venues are in the unique position of being less than a
15 minutes drive to the Olympic Park and central London -
providing athletes with easy access to the competition venues
and to tourist attractions such as the West End and Oxford
Street.
