Street Care Teams
Street Care are responsible for ensuring that
a cleaner, safer, high-quality local environment is maintained in
Tower Hamlets. This is achieved by carrying out inspections,
monitoring, education and enforcement functions covering the
borough’s public realm areas in accordance with relevant
legislation and codes of practice.
There are eighteen area based, front-line
Street Care Officers operating in the borough. An
additional six specialist officers are dealing with trade
waste.

How are Street Care Officers identified?
Each Street Care Officer will display a Tower
Hamlets photo-ID card and carry an Enforcement Officer warrant card
with the officer’s photo. Street Care Officers will identify
themselves using either form of ID.
