Supplier payments
Tower Hamlets Council provides a range of over 200 services to
people in the borough of Tower Hamlets and manages a budget
of more than £1 billion a year.
Most of this budget is spent on schools, benefits, social
services, housing and waste services.
Local people have a right to know how their money is being
spent, and Tower Hamlets Council is pleased to publish details of all its payments over £500
in value on its website.
More information on how money is
spent.
Senior staff pay
In order to provide transparency over its payments to staff, the
council publishes a list of all council staff earning a salary of
more than £82,000 a year. The
London Borough of Tower Hamlets Statement of Accounts (PDF
640k) is already in the public domain and shows the salaries
for our Chief Officer grades.
Public section equality duty
As part of the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) under the
Equality Act 2010, the council has published a range of equality monitoring
data, including information relating to people who share a
protected characteristic who are the council's employees and
people affected by our policies and practices (for example, service
users).
