Community fire safety
Safety at home
As most fires in the home start accidentally, it’s important to
carry out a few simple safety checks. By doing so you can:
- reduce the chances of a fire starting in your home
- keep yourself, your family and your property safe from
fire
Don’t forget, if there is a fire in your home – get out, stay
out and call 999 – don’t try to tackle the fire yourself.

communities they serve to make London a safer place to live,

Alongside the work they do with young people, visiting
schools and carrying out home fire safety visits they are also
responsible for enforcing fire safety legislation as well as being
the licensing authority for the storage of petroleum in London.
