Procurement strategy & action plan
The Council spends over £400million every year
on goods and services from external providers. This Procurement
Strategy lays down the Council’s priorities and approach for
achieving best value for money from our procurement over the next
three years.
With increasing financial constraints, and the
need to get more for less, improved procurement is high on the
agenda, both for the Council and for local government nationally.
Excellence in Procurement can not only achieve significant savings
and efficiencies, but also contributes to achievement of the
Council’s social objectives. Tower Hamlets is now a 4-star
authority and effective procurement is essential in supporting the
Council as it continues to improve strongly.
