Advice and support for looked after children
The council aims to provide the best possible experience
for children and young people in care. This includes helping them
to achieve their potential educationally, physically and socially.
Our Virtual School for looked after children is responsible for
working with social workers, carers and professionals to promote
educational achievement and has produced an Education
Support Manual.
The Looked After Children health team is responsible for
promoting and monitoring the health of children in care. There is a
health support pack that is available to carers from the Fostering
Development Team. Each child in care has an allocated social
worker responsible for their overall Care Plan.
