Promoting food safety practices
Food safety undertakes a number of promotional activities
throughout the year. Some of which are aimed at businesses, others
at consumers.
Promoting food safety in business
The council produces a newsletter, ‘Food and Drink’ which is
sent to all food businesses in the borough three times a year. A
link to this newsletter can be found below.
The newsletter contains useful information on legal requirements
and good practice, as well as updates on current issues on both
food safety and health and safety at work.
If you do not currently receive the newsletter please email your
business name and address details to foodsafety@towerhamlets.gov.uk.
Anyone with a problem or seeking advice on the running of their
food business can call us on 020 7364 5008 or email foodsafety@towerhamlets.gov.uk.
Publications
‘The Food Safety Pack’ provides food businesses with a
documented hazard analysis system, with templates for keeping all
the necessary records.
Should you require a copy of this publication, please email
foodsafety@towerhamlets.gov.uk.
Promoting food safety to consumers
Every year we participate in National Food Safety Week (NFSW).
NFSW is sponsored by Foodlink and the Food Standards Agency. Activities
include competitions, displays and talks and demonstrations to
local groups.
A number of food safety leaflets are available from the council,
