Supporting older people
You can choose to spend part of the budget on
one of these projects to help support older people:
- Tea Dances: £2,500
- Hoppa Bus for Older People: £60,000
- Gyms in the Park: £20,000
- Day Trips: £20,000
- Outreach worker: £35,000
- Gardening Project: £40,000
- Handyperson service: £10,000
- Support for carers: £10,000
- Massage Therapy Service: £13,000
- Pamper Days: £1,500
Improving cleanliness and quality of streets, pavements and
parks
You can choose to spend part of the budget on
one of these projects to help improve streets and parks:
- Community shrub and tree planting: £20,000
- Park improvement project: £50,000
- Active parks – outdoor gyms and community planting:
£40,000
- Bike It!: £16,500
- Better street lighting: £15,000
- Speed indicator devices to encourage slower driving:

- Expansion of Mile End Skate Park: £50,000
- Traffic calming and road safety developments: £18,000
Tackling crime and anti-social behaviour
You can choose to spend part of the budget on
one of these projects to tackle crime and anti-social
behaviour:
- Enforcement activity in markets: £30,000
- Warrior Women personal safety training: £6,000
- Intergenerational events (An opportunity for people of all age
groups to get together): £25,000
- No Place for Hate Champions: £15,000
- Drug & Alcohol Outreach Support Workers: £42,500
- THEO (Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers) operations:
£35,000
- Police operations: £35,000
- New CCTV cameras: £30,000
Reducing levels of youth unemployment
You can choose to spend part of the budget on
one of these projects to help reduce levels of youth
unemployment:
- Engaging young people in community events: £7,000
- Youth Disability and Special Educational Needs Employment:
£5,000
- Family Learning ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages):
£7,500
- Family Learning Support ESOL (English for Speakers of Other
Languages): £15,000
- Community football coaching for young people: £4,500
- Learn to swim lessons: £7,000
- Jobs fairs: £5,000
- Skillsmatch graduate placement programme: £22,000
Raising GCSE results to be the best in the country
You can choose to spend part of the budget on
one of these projects to help raise GCSE results:
- Laptops for GCSE Students: £42,000
- One to one and small group tuition for GCSE students:
£20,000
- Study Support - Learning beyond the Classroom: £20,000
- Youth Inclusion Programme (Prevents 13 to 17 years entering the
criminal justice system): £50,000
- Youth Inclusion & Support Panel (Supporting children
between 8 to 13 who may be known to the police or council):

- Early GCSE in mother tongue: £35,000
Health projects in partnership with NHS Tower Hamlets
You can choose to spend part of the budget on
one of these projects to help residents become healthier:
- Reducing the harm of alcohol amongst key groups: £35,000
