Housing strategy 2009/12
Tower Hamlets’ 2009/12 housing strategy sets out how the council
intends to help deliver more and better housing for Tower Hamlets’
residents.
The strategy focuses on delivering four key priorities that will
help deliver this objective:
- delivering and managing decent homes
- placemaking and sustainable communities
- managing demand, reducing overcrowding
- new supply of housing
Meeting the housing challenges that Tower Hamlets face will only
be achieved with the support of key partners such as:
- residents
- housing associations
- private developers
- other public service providers
Consultation with the public on the draft strategy ended on 6
March 2009; the final strategy was approved by Cabinet in May 2009.
