Partnership Task Force

The Partnership Task Force (PTF) is a team of
21 police officers created using more than £1m of funding from
Mayor Rahman.
The team works directly in response to
residents’ concerns around community safety, and is a partnership
initiative between the council and Tower Hamlets Police. The
council funded 16 of the 21 police officers with the Borough
Commander Paul Rickett funding the other five.
The PTF was launched in June 2011. Its
creation meant that Tower Hamlets has been one of the only London
boroughs to see a rise in police officers.
Mayor Rahman said: “Community safety is a big concern for my
residents, and it is my priority. I have invested £1.3
million to build this new team in partnership with the police, and
to improve the quality of life for residents.
“The new team is already having a positive
impact, and more and more residents will feel the benefit as the
team tackles anti-social behaviour issues across the
borough.”
