What is the Tower Hamlets police and community safety
board?
The board is a committed group of people who live or work in
Tower Hamlets, who meet regularly to ensure that policing is shaped
around the needs of the local community.
The board enables local people to effectively engage Tower
Hamlets police, the Metropolitan Police Authority and the council,
in constructive discussion on policing and crime issues.
What does the board do?
- talk to and listen to the local police, and question them on
their policies and practices
- feedback key messages or issues from the meetings to members of
their community
- consult members of their community in between meetings to find
out their views and feed them back to the board, in order to
maintain an ongoing two-way dialogue
