Reducing re-offending
Tower Hamlets Council is the only authority in London to be
recognised for its work in reducing re-offending.
The council holds national beacon status for promoting close
working between the local authority, the police, probation service
and partners in the third sector to reduce re-offending.
The work to reduce re-offending focuses on seven pathways as
outlined in the London Resettlement Strategy. These are
accommodation; education, training and employment; children and
families; health; drugs; finance, debt and benefit; and attitudes,
thinking and behaviour.
