Congestion charging scheme
You can pay the congestion charge either in advance or on the
day of travel before, during or after your journey.
There are some exemptions and discounts - for example disabled
'Blue Badge' drivers receive a 100% discount. Also residents within
the charging zone are eligible for a 90% discount.
The charge applies Monday to Fridays between 7am and 6pm.
Drivers using the central zone must pay either in advance or on
the day of travel in one of the following ways:
- by phone
- post
- on the internet
- or at various retail outlets.
Part of the zone, and consequently the boundary, falls within
Tower Hamlets borough.
