Launch
of Domestic Violence One Stop Shop
A Tower Hamlets ' Domestic Violence One Stop Shop'
for victims of domestic violence and vulnerable adults is being
launched on Monday November 28 at the Jagonari Centre, 183-185
Whitechapel Road, E1 from 9.30am - 12.30pm.
Tower Hamlets police have worked in partnership with the Council
to devise the ' Domestic violence One Stop Shop', which will be
open every Monday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
The ' Domestic Violence One Stop Shop' will have representatives
from the following organisations:
- Tower Hamlets police Community Safety Unit
- LBTH Domestic Violence Team
- LBTH Housing department
- Victim Support
- Aanchal Asian Women's Aid
- Tower Hamlets Asian Women's Aid
- Local Law firm providing advice on injunctions, welfare and
housing issues.
Andy Bamber, Head of Safer Communities at the council, said: "We
are extremely pleased to have this vital service, which aims to
encourage more victims of domestic violence to come forward and
seek support for themselves.
"We want to ensure an appropriate response to high risk cases,
and provide information and advice about all domestic violence
services that are available to residents within the borough. This
project will compliment the range of services we currently provide
for victims of domestic violence."
