With London 2012 Olympic Games underway residents
have the chance to watch all the sporting action live at BT London
Live, a FREE celebration of the London 2012
Olympic Games.
Victoria Park is one of three iconic sites which have been
transformed for BT London Live to give residents and visitors
access to live music, sports and cultural attractions during the
London 2012 Olympic Games.
Other BT London Live sites include Hyde Park (Olympic Games) and
Trafalgar Square (Paralympic Games).
BT London Live is a partnership between the Mayor of London, The
Royal Parks and The London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Victoria Park is bursting with entertainment with something for
everyone, from live music featuring some of the country’s best and
most diverse musical talent to watching the 100 metres final on
giant state-of–the-art screens, a 55m high BT Observation Wheel
giving amazing views of the Olympic Park, outdoor spectacles and
have-a-go sports.
Children can enjoy daily activities at the Kids Zone and the
more adventurous revellers can try out the bungee trampoline, Zip
Line and land or water Zorbing. Please note some attraction have
fees attached.
Food lovers can indulge their taste buds with a range of
culinary delights at stalls plus The Sun Pub (The Sun Official
Print Partner of BT London Live) will be on site.

The wider cultural offer includes spectacular theatre,
interactive artworks and street art. Cultural highlights
include:
- Showtime, which is a Mayor of London project, the
London Outdoor Arts Festival, between August 8-12 five
days of outdoor arts performances with magnificent acts ranging
from Red Poppy a Chinese Drum ensemble who performed at the Beijing
Opening Ceremony to comedy and walkabout performances
- Fanfare, all the best show choirs from the
USA, with varied performances from three different schools every
night in the Sports Arena between August 3-7
- Cirque Bijou & The Boxettes- an urban
performance of parkour and dance nightly with interactive workshops
throughout the day on August 6 & 7.
- The World in London Project - an exhibition
from the Photographers Gallery, with images of Londoners from all
over the world depicting the capital’s diverse population and
illustrating all 204 competing nations in the Olympic Games have
‘home support’.
Family activity highlights include:
- Have-a-go sports zone: sports include
Badminton, Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball, Handball, Judo,
Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Lacrosse and Athletics.
- BT Air Balloon: free tethered flights
available dependant on weather conditions
- Kids Zone: sport themed craft activities for
children aged 2-8 years, every day from 11am-5pm.
- In the Zone, a Wellcome Trust initiative
inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, It
provides a fun, free and fascinating way of using science to
discover how our bodies work during sport, activity, movement and
rest.
