Joint citizenship and passport application service
Should you choose to do so, you are now able to apply for your UK passport at the same time as you submit your application for citizenship.
This easy, efficient service has been developed in partnership with the Home Office.
If your application for citizenship is successful and a citizenship ceremony is attended by you, your new passport will be dispatched to your home.
The fee for this service is £15 which is charged in addition to the fee charged for the Nationality Checking Service. Please be aware that this fee will increase to £20 on 6 April 2016.
We can only accept passport applications as part of a joint application for citizenship.
You can obtain a passport application pack from the Post Office or collect one from the register office.
Your passport application will not be processed until the successful outcome of your citizenship application. The passport application fee will not be refunded if your application for citizenship is unsuccessful.
If your application is successful and you attend your citizenship ceremony, you should allow up to 4 weeks for your passport to be issued.
All personal details (name, age, address, etc) stated on the passport application form should match the details on the accompanying application for citizenship. The name that is shown on the passport should be the name that is used for all purposes.
Before completing your passport application form and attending your joint nationality checking and passport application appointment, please thoroughly read the Home Office Passport Application Guidance and Additional Guidance (the information given in the Additional Guidance is not referred to in the Home Office Passport Application Guidance so please ensure that you read both documents).
