Isle of Dogs and South Poplar Opportunity Area Planning Framework (OAPF)
The Mayor of London and Transport for London are jointly running a final consultation on the Isle of Dogs and South Poplar Opportunity Area Planning Framework (OAPF) which sets out the Mayor of London’s vision for the area to the year 2041.
The document will supplement the London Plan and aims to:
• coordinate the development pressures in the area;
• take into account the impacts of growth on the local communities and the environment; and
• ensure that housing and employment growth is well-supported by the necessary infrastructure.
John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets said:
“This consultation gives you the opportunity to give feedback on the GLA’s vision for the Isle of Dogs and South Poplar. It’s important that local people’s views are heard, so I would urge people to comment on the GLA’s plans and help shape the future of their area.”
Cllr Rachel Blake, Deputy Mayor for Regeneration and Air Quality added:
“The Isle of Dogs and South Poplar are experiencing huge amounts of development, we must get the balance right between investing in our existing communities and preparing for new communities, making sure the benefits of growth are shared. This is the last chance to influence the GLA’s plans.”
