We are giving residents the chance to win tickets to see world class women’s international tennis in East London this Easter Sunday, as Great Britain takes on Kazakhstan in the Fed Cup.
If you live in Tower Hamlets you can enter a random draw to score one of three pairs of tickets to see the second and final day of the Fed Cup World Group II play-off at the Copper Box Arena, which will include reverse singles and doubles matches.
Starting at midday on 21 April, this event is giving people a unique opportunity to see the two teams battling it out in what is the world's largest annual international team competition in women's sport.
Mayor John Biggs said: “This is the first time international tennis of this level will be staged in East London. It’s great to see residents of Tower Hamlets being given the chance to win tickets to go along for free. We encourage and support everyone to live active lifestyles and get involved in sports. We’re lucky to have world class sport available to us on our doorstep.”
Chief Executive of the LTA, Scott Lloyd said: “We are very proud to bring our Fed Cup tie against Kazakhstan to East London. We want to enable as many fans as possible to attend and give new audiences the opportunity to experience the thrill of live tennis and support the British team.”
Chief Executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, Lyn Garner said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the Fed Cup and we look forward to welcoming thousands of tennis fans to the Copper Box Arena. It’s yet another fantastic sporting event taking place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.”
