An egg-cellent range of free spring and Easter family activities

The council has plenty of free family fun on offer for the school Easter holidays and beyond.


  • Free family activities across the borough 

  • Revamped playgrounds host special celebrations.

From 7 April  to the end of May, a range of free council funded activities for children will be on offer at parks, playgrounds, Ideas Stores, libraries and other venues across the borough.

From art clubs and bonnet making, to Easter egg hunts and outdoor events at some of the borough’s refurbished parks and playgrounds, the council has plenty of family fun on offer for the school Easter holidays and beyond.

Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs said: “Our popular  free spring and Easter events promise to keep families active and entertained during the school Easter holidays.”

Councillor Amina Ali Cabinet Member for Culture, Arts and Brexit added: “Our jam packed school holiday events programme promises a variety of indoor and outdoor fun activities for residents of all ages to enjoy.”

A number of Easter arts and crafts and egg hunts will be taking place in the borough’s parks:

  • Tues 9 April 12 noon - 3pm  - Mile End Children’s Play Park, Locksley Street, E14
  • Thurs 11 April 12 noon - 5pm  - Whitehorse Adventure Playground, Whitehorse Road, E1
  • Fri 12 April 12 noon - 3pm  - King Edward Memorial Park, Glamis Road, E1
  • Tues 16 April 12 noon - 3pm - Mile End Children’s Play park, Locksley Street, E14
  • Weds 17 April 12 noon - 3pm -Mile End Children’s Play park, Locksley Street, E14 

Residents are also invited to a number of free events  at Stepney Green Park; Ropemakers Fields, Limehouse; and St John’s Park on the Isle of Dogs.

The free, fun events will feature games, inflatables, and much more, Celebrations will take place on:

  • Wednesday 10 April 12 noon - 4pm at Stepney Green Playground, Stepney Way, E1
  • Monday 15 April 12 noon - 4pm, Ropemakers’ Fields Playground, Narrow Street E14
  • Wednesday 29 May 12 noon - 4pm at St. John’s Playground, Manchester Road, E14.

Decorate for spring art club

It is spring, time for fresh and colourful ideas. Create spring themed decorations for our Idea Store: flowers, blossom on the trees, bunnies hopping, it’s all in there!

Urban Wheelers Jam  -

Victoria Park,

A fun-filled day where you can try out your skating and BMX skills at our fantastic wheel park. Coaching sessions will take place during the day for ages 7-16 only.

No need to book in advance. Book a coaching session on arrival - first come first served. Email victoriapark@towerhamlets.gov.uk for more information.

Collecting Easter eggs has to be the most egg-citing part of Easter morning. Seeing what that big old bunny left is great fun – but what to collect them in? Come along and create your own Easter egg basket!

We love Easter! It’s such a fun holiday for making all kinds of chick and bunny themed crafts. And since those two animals are beyond adorable so are the crafts! Ready to make your own Easter pop up card? We certainly are!

Easter Eggstravaganza!

Take part in our Easter egg hunt, have a photo with our Easter Bunny or make an Easter bonnet in our arts and craft corner. Join our community park rangers for Easter fun for the whole family! No need to book. Email victoriapark@towerhamlets.gov.uk for more information.
