Training for champions to tackle hate crime opens


Tower Hamlets Council is looking for people who want to tackle discrimination and hate crime in their communities.

Applications for the next round of the council’s free, award winning, No place for Hate training opens today and closes at 5pm on 3 May. Anyone who lives or works in the borough is eligible to apply.

 John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets said:

“We are committed to tackling all forms of hate crime and this is a great way to contribute to your community.

“I would encourage everyone to think about doing this award winning training.”

 Councillor Asma Begum, Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Equalities added:

“Our current champions do a great job in raising awareness about hate crime, and deliver a variety of training and events.

“The training is a great way to develop new skills.”
