The winners of the 2019 Tower Hamlets Council’s Christmas card competition were thanked and congratulated for their designs earlier this month at the town hall by Mayor Biggs and Will Tuckley, the council’s Chief Executive.

Three winning designs were selected, by the Mayor, Mr Tuckley and Debbie Jones, Corporate Director of Children and Culture.

John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets, said: “We were so impressed by the high standard of creativity and talent by all the children across the borough who sent their designs in.”

Accompanied by their parents, Amiya Ali (7) of Blue Gate Fields Junior  School, Madeeha Rob (9) of Lawdale Junior School and Aasiyah Bedekar (9) of St Mary & St Michael Catholic Primary School had lunch with the mayor and chief executive. They were also presented with a book token and a framed copy of their designs.

More than 60 creative and colourful drawings by children between the ages of 5 and 11 were entered into the competition.
