The council is proud to have retained its silver Investors in People status
Tower Hamlets Council has been awarded the silver Investors in People standard, the prestigious accreditation recognising organisations’ commitment to realising the potential of their workforce.
Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. It enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business.
The Investors in People review of Tower Hamlets Council said: “Levels of pride in the organisation remain high, people see the organisation’s leadership as authentic and the council continues to undergo significant self-review in order to create a sustainable organisation that is actively responding to a changing external environment and financial challenges.”
Will Tuckley, Chief Executive added: “We’re delighted to achieve silver Investors in People accreditation status. This is a tribute to our staff and I am grateful to all of them. It is also very gratifying to see the improvement journey of the council recognised in this way. The council is absolutely committed to achieving success by realising the potential of its people.”
Only 15 percent of organisations achieve the criteria for Silver standard which is now adjudicated at a higher level than previous years with exacting targets demanded by IIP.
Tower Hamlets Council employs more than 4,000 people engaged in providing a comprehensive range of services, advice and assistance to its 317,000 residents.
