From soup making to boat building, petrifying pumpkin carving and arts and crafts, Tower Hamlets Council’s Idea Stores, libraries, parks and leisure centres are gearing up for a half term week to keep youngsters of all ages active and entertained.

The half term programme runs from 21- 25 October and also includes Black History Month and Halloween themed activities.

John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets, said: “The council wants to make sure residents, including families are able to take part in a range of community and leisure activities. Our popular half term events promise to be as exciting as ever.”

This month’s programme follows a successful summer of fun, which saw a record 30,575 people, including children, and families, take part in council run sports and physical activities and events across the borough.

‘Halloweek’ is a week of events in the lead up to Halloween and young people can join in creepy crafts, pumpkin carving, spooky badge making and much more.

Councillor Sabina Akhtar, Cabinet Member, for Culture, Arts and Brexit, said: “As ever, we have a variety of fantastic free indoor and outdoor activities for families and young people across the borough to choose from.
