Adult social care charging consultation open

Adult social care community-based services charging consultation

Adult social care charging consultation

We are consulting on proposed changes to the way the council calculates how much residents pay towards the cost of community-based adult social care services.

Community-based services include care provided to a person in their home, care provided in day centres and care purchased with a direct payment from the council.

There are two options we are consulting on, which propose changes to the maximum amount people may be asked to pay towards the cost of their care, changing the utilities allowance and stopping charging for respite and carer relief.

The changes will help the council make savings to ensure we can continue to provide a sustainable social care offer and bring us in line with how other councils charge for their community-based adult social care services.

We want to hear what you think about our proposals.

The consultation runs from Monday 9 March 2020 to Sunday 31 May 2020. To have your say, please visit Let’s Talk Tower Hamlets, the council's online consultation and engagement platform.
