Yeoman Warders at the Tower of London
A new short video has been released today celebrating England’s participation in Euro 2020, featuring the iconic Yeoman Warder’s, better known as Beefeaters, from the Tower of London.
Produced in partnership with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, the film features the Beefeater’s playing football inside the Tower before shouting “Come on England”.
This is followed by the hashtag #Believe — a nod to the 1996/98 footballing anthems Three Lions (Football's Coming Home) and Three Lions '98 by Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds.
The video released on social media will also be shown on selected big screens around London (Trafalgar Square and Potters Field Park) at least once a day, throughout the tournament, which runs from 11 June to 11 July.
Mayor of Tower Hamlets, John Biggs, said: “Sport is going to be an essential feature of the COVID recovery locally, and nationally, as people go outside to have fun and get active.
“I’m thrilled to have the support of our nation’s number one tourist attraction and I hope the England team does us proud in Euro 2020.”
