The Banglatown walk and talk is aimed at anybody interested in Bengali migration and settlement in the East End of London. It is an opportunity to learn about the Bengali community’s history and heritage, and the lives of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, values and customs. The experiences of Bengalis in the East End explore both the value of multi-culturalism and the tensions it creates. The walk/talk will look at the legacy of the British Empire as migration from the colonies continued throughout the twentieth century.
