The diverse array of work in this exhibition hails from a variety of classes run by local art tutor Virginia Hawke, and has been created in response to the wider theme of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Participants have been exploring historic UK events throughout recent decades with associated feasts, fanfare, celebration and commemoration to make connections through the years.
Ginny has been inspiring students of all ages and abilities for many years as her Art4U2 classes have been a core part of the borough’s rich, creative and community-focused offer. She has been encouraging emerging artists to hone their skills in a range of media including oil painting, watercolour, collage, printmaking and more, as well as having the opportunity to exhibit their works en masse.
Please note that the building is closed on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June.
There will be a late opening on Thursday 9th June from 6 – 8pm and a chance to meet some of the artists.
