Join us for walking basketball. You do not need to be a highly tuned athlete to compete - you can still join in with a number of ailments and free and open to adults of all ages and abilities.
Hosted by Tower Hamlets Council – Sports and Physical Activity Team, the sessions are an opportunity for those who like basketball but don’t want to play at full speed.
Basketball features a range of health and social benefits:
- it’s social and improve your mental health
- it reduces blood pressure and offers cardiovascular benefits for the heart and circulation
- it’s also great for muscle and bone development as well as co-ordination
- walking basketball is low impact so it’s easy on the joints and it’s a way to enjoy the game without having to commit to full on competition.
