Want to be part of a supportive, creative network but don't know where to start? This could be just the thing for you.
This autumn, as part of their new programme Rich Mix Resonates, Rich Mix will be working with long-standing partners Mwalimu Express to provide inclusive, intergenerational spaces for older and/or isolated members of the community.
Mwalimu Express is London’s original African adventure of live music, games, and food. Together, we will be cooking up a series of games, music and art workshops leading up to Mwalimu Express events in October, November and December. The workshops will look at some key themes:
Play – Seth and the Oware Society will lead workshops exploring Oware game, the oldest board game in the world. It is a compelling game of numbers and strategy – learn to play or hone your skills.
Music – Mwalimu Express DJ Rita will explore musical connections from an African perspective leading to a soundscape of songs, memories, and new connections. Listen, chat and enjoy.
Art – Get involved in painting sessions with exciting artists, in collaboration with the Rich Mix team.
Participants are welcome to come along on their own, or as part of a group.
All sessions are open to befrienders, friends or family of those who are taking part.
