To celebrate Black History Month, Purple Moon Drama have won a bid to create a short film. Our youth board voted and we've decided to create a documentary inspired by the saying: 'The Comeback Is Stronger Than The Setback'. The documentary will look at true and inspiring stories to emphasise how even through tough times, we can always come back stronger. We want to produce real stories from real creatives, predominantly those from marginalised backgrounds. In preparation for the film we are running 3 online workshops free to anyone in our network, taking you through all aspects of film making.
Jade Marie Joseph will be running our first session on Story Boarding. Jade-marie is an actress and film maker. She created, produced, filmed and edited her documentary ‘LIFE: How We Live’ in 2013. It went on to then be broadcast on BBC three fresh. ‘LIFE’ received acclaim from viewers and was rated as one of the best by the BBC three fresh team. Since then she has gone on to write and had a short play of hers performed at Theatre Peckham’s scratch night; now she is currently in the works of writing a new film based on mental health. In this workshop you you will learn how to create your own story board for film and have the opportunity to send us a submission to be our film’s Creator. We’re looking for clever concepts that we can make happen over the course of 3 shoot/edit days. Anyone is welcome, even if you’re not planning to submit!
Free of charge but please book your place.
