The Big Clean Up for December is underway!

Big Clean Up (Quixley St) -18 GROUP

The council kicked off its Big Clean Up today (Monday 11 December), and is working with partners and volunteers to hit the streets all this week to pick up litter, tackle graffiti and help to keep areas clean.

Local people were invited to share their own views on which bits of the borough could do with some TLC.

Mayor John Biggs said:

“I know that our residents take pride in the Borough, and having clean streets is an important part of this, which is why I launched the Love your Neighbourhood campaign.’’

‘’Through enforcement work, along with education and community involvement such as the Big Clean Up events as a Council we are constantly working to make sure our Borough looks its best’’

Cllr Rachel Blake, Cabinet Member for Strategic Development & Waste, added:

“We are committed to keeping our streets clean and free of litter through constant street cleansing work, and by cracking down on fly-tipping and littering offences.”
