Mayor announces the winners of this year's Christmas Card Competition

Three very talented pupils have produced the winning entries for this year’s Mayor’s Christmas card competition.

Punam Kundu  -  a pupil  in Reception at Harry Gosling primary school will have her design used for the Mayor’s official Christmas card.

Priyanaka Ghosh  from Osmani primary school design will be used on cards from the Director of Children’s services, Debbie Jones

Emma Ahaotu in Y6 at Marner primary school’s design will feature on the card for the Chief Executive of Tower Hamlets, Will Tuckley.

The competition attracted around 300 entries from primary students across the borough.

Mayor of Tower Hamlets, John Biggs said:

“It was very difficult to pick the winners as the standard of entries was very high. 

“It’s fantastic to see so many different types of designs from children of all ages. We have very talented youngsters in Tower Hamlets!”

The Mayor’s design features a penguin which stood out with its bright colour scheme.   

To mark their success, Punam and the two runners-up have scooped a £15 book token and were invited to a lunch party hosted by the Mayor and the Chief Executive.
