Help to ensure fireworks weekend is safe

Fireworks

This year the council, police, London Fire Brigade, housing providers and community groups are working together to ensure that fireworks weekend is a safe and enjoyable time for all.

Together we are:

  • increasing high visibility policing patrols across the borough
  • visiting fireworks retailers to ensure responsible sales
  • cracking down on illegal/underage fireworks sales and use
  • patrolling parks and estates to remove bonfire materials
  • removing bonfire materials to prevent fires
  • providing rapid response youth services and activities to keep young people out of trouble over the half term period
  • increasing evening caretaker patrols
  • running targeted police and Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officer operations to crack down on crime and disorder
  • using CCTV to monitor and respond to anti-social behaviour and crime.

The council and partners will continue to work with you so we can make Tower Hamlets safer together.
