Mayor John Biggs is leading the council in supporting the Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal 2017.
The Mayor backed the Royal British Legion appeal, which supports servicemen and women and their families affected by both historic conflicts and up the present day.
Mayor John Biggs said:” I’m proud that the Council is supporting the poppy appeal this year as usual. We’re selling poppies to both staff and visitors at the Town Hall.
This Borough and many of the community from all backgrounds gave so much for the country and its right that we remember this every year.”
Council staff will be observing a minutes silence on Friday, 10 November at 11am to remember those from Tower Hamlets who gave their lives in service.
