Residents will be given an opportunity to help shape the future of one of the borough's most important inner city open spaces this weekend.
As part of the wider programme of regeneration being undertaken in the Brick Lane area, the council has recognised that there is an opportunity to address a range of issues facing Allen Gardens park off Buxton Street.
A team of specialist consultants are currently carrying out a feasibility study exploring options to improve the overall look and feel of the space. They're exploring specific issues such as planting, greenery and landscaping as well as playground provision, seating, litter bins and signage. Options for outdoor gym equipment, lighting and security to assist with people flow and wayfinding are also being considered.
This work will be continue over the next four months and will include a series of engagement events involving activities with local residents, businesses, market traders, stakeholders and the wider public.
The next event will take place this Sunday at Allen Gardens. Anyone who would like the chance to have their voices heard can drop by between midday and 4pm.
It's a fantastic opportunity for residents to get their ideas directly to the people putting together the plans.
