This property is one of five buildings that the council has designated as Community Hubs. The leasehold will be offered only to voluntary sector and other not-for-profit incorporated organisations such as registered social landlords.
Prospective tenants will be asked to submit proposals for operating these premises as community hubs, together with the council’s prospective tenant information form.

The property is located on the ground floor in a two-storey building on Raines Street, off Wapping Lane and adjacent to wapping high street in a mostly residential area. The immediate area comprises a mixture of private and social housing.
The usual residential amenities are within close proximity. It is a few minutes away from wapping underground station and approximately a mile to Tower Hill station that serves DLR and main line.

Raine’s house has been closed for public use to comply with Covid-19 regulations. Previously it was closed for repairs and improvement work.
Prior to closure the building was used regularly by a social club and elders group, and accommodated pollyanna, a locally based arts and dance group.
The social club and elders group have relocated their activities to other local community buildings.
Pollyanna now has a lease for the first floor of the building and the community hub will be the ground floor only.
