Community Hubs

This property is one of five buildings that the council has designated as Community Hubs. The leasehold will be offered only to voluntary sector and other not-for-profit incorporated organisations such as registered social landlords.

Prospective tenants will be asked to submit proposals for operating these premises as community hubs, together with the council’s prospective tenant information form

These proposals will be assessed by the council and will be a key determinant in the decision making process. Full details are provided in the information pack.

The unit is available to let for five years term. The lease is to be contracted out of the landlord & tenant act 1954 part ii. The council is seeking bids to ensure the maximum community benefit is secured.

Existing use

Raine’s house has been closed for public use to comply with Covid-19 regulations.  Previously it was closed for repairs and improvement work.

Prior to closure the building was used regularly by a social club and elders group, and accommodated pollyanna, a locally based arts and dance group.

The social club and elders group have relocated their activities to other local community buildings.

Pollyanna now has a lease for the first floor of the building and the community hub will be the ground floor only.
