This property is one of five buildings that the council has designated as Community Hubs. The leasehold will be offered only to voluntary sector and other not-for-profit incorporated organisations such as registered social landlords.
Prospective tenants will be asked to submit proposals for operating these premises as community hubs, together with the council’s prospective tenant information form.

The property is located on Digby Street off Roman Road to the north and Globe Road to the south with two transport routes into the city. These are are Cambridge Heath Road (A107) to the east and Bethnal Green Road (A1209).

Tramshed has been closed for public use since March 2020 to comply with Covid-19 regulations. It has been used by the NHS as a vaccination centre.
Prior to closure the main use was for occasional private hire for local residents. The premises were regularly used by local people for Friday prayers.
There are no long term contractual hirings but the council would expect consideration to be given to the use for Friday prayer if local residents requested this.
