Procurement – ethics, sustainability, transparency and accreditations

LBTH Ethical Standards

The council wishes to engage with all suppliers in a clear and ethical manner. To take this idea further the council has developed a Supplier Chain Code of Conduct.

This code forms part of the initial tender evaluation process. Compliance with the code is mandatory for all external providers who contract with the council. The code applies to all suppliers (private, voluntary sector, grant funded institutions etc.).

LBTH Accreditations

Finally, we are proud of our recent efforts in the following areas including incorporating the London Living Wage in our contracts, earning accreditation and recognition from the WWF Timber Pledge, Fairtrade Foundation and most recently (2016) from Electronics Watch, who are an independent monitoring organisation that assist public sector buyers to meet their responsibility to protect the labour rights of workers in their global electronics supply chains.
