Old local community ward forums

Below are details of the priorities and budget allocation decisions made during the previous round of local community ward forums. The groups represented the ward boundaries of the borough before they were changed ahead of the 2014 local elections.

Bethnal Green North

Community Champion Co-ordinator

There was one Community Champion Co-ordinator for this ward:

Ward priorities

In meeting one, all attendees decided on the following ward priorities:

  • environment
  • health
  • meeting place.

Budgeting

In meeting two, all attendees decided to allocate the £10,000 ward budget towards the following projects/activities:

  • Russia Lane improvements
  • 'Bounce Back' Young Stroke Survivors Network
  • The Zacchaeus Project: Arthiritis.

Bethnal Green South

In meeting one, all attendees decided on the following ward priorities:

In meeting two, all attendees decided to allocate the £10,000 ward budget towards the following projects/activities:

  • Business classes
  • Additional youth activities
  • Crime reporting
  • Cooking classesm

Blackwall and Cubitt Town

Ward priorities

In meeting one all attendees decided on the following ward priorities:

  • public events regarding developments on Isle of Dogs/community festival
  • support for local third sector groups
  • bringing the community together.

Budgeting

In meeting two, all attendees decided to allocate the £10,000 ward budget towards the following projects/activities:

  • Festival celebrating the ward (with stalls on local developments and third-sector support)
  • Silver surfers computer skills exchange.

Bow East

Community Champion Co-ordinators

There was one Community Champion Co-ordinators for this ward:

  • Marta Arechaga.

Ward priorities

In meeting one all attendees decided on the following ward priorities:

  • timebank
  • facilities for young people
  • activities for elderly people.

Budgeting

Residents who attended the second meetings in both wards decided to combine the budget for both Bow West and Bow East wards and hold one meeting for both wards. At this joint meeting, all attendees decided to allocate the (combined) £20,000 budget towards the following projects/activities:

  • Timebanking
  • Weekend activities for the elderly
  • Roman Road Festival
  • Football provision for young people in the wards
  • Increased THEO patrols in resident identified hotspots
  • A youth photography project.

Bow West

Community Champion Co-ordinators

There were five Community Champion Co-ordinators for this ward:

In meeting one all attendees decided on the following ward priorities:

  • community
  • youth engagement
  • street environment.

Budgeting

Residents who attended the second meetings in both wards decided to combine the budget for both Bow West and Bow East wards and hold one meeting for both wards. At this joint meeting, all attendees decided to allocate the (combined) £20,000 budget towards the following projects/activities:

  • Timebanking
  • Weekend activities for the elderly
  • Roman Road Festival
  • Football provision for young people in the wards

Bromley-By-Bow
