Consultations - join the conversation
Last year, the council ran a series of consultations under the banner Your Borough, Your Future.
Deeper government cuts and rising pressures on services meant the council have to save £58 million from our annual budget by 2020. This is the equivalent of £1 for every £6 we spend.
We believe that through continued efficiency savings within the council, and a new approach to planning our budget, we can make many of these savings while providing the same or even better outcomes for our residents.
We asked residents to tell us what services are important to them and how we as a council can do things differently to help us set our new budget and shape the future for our borough.
In February, we agreed a budget for the next three year, based on the feedback residents gave and our own analysis of where we could make savings within the council. We have focussed on improving how we work and streamlining our processes wherever possible in order to protect the services which we know residents rely on.
We made a commitment to consult further with residents if any of our planned changes would affect the services you use. We are now launching a six week consultation on our plans to change four services.
Please share your feedback on what these changes mean for you.
