What we have achieved
Since the cuts started in 2010, Tower Hamlets has saved £138m and helped attract new investment into the borough.
these savings; have included reducing our workforce, included reducing our workforce, including the number of managers, and being more efficient through measures including cutting red tape and negotiating better contracts.
We have attracted more than £34m by bidding for public grants and raised £45m from the sale of buildings. The pressure on council budgets make it essential that we continue to stimulate investment and jobs to improve the borough and make our local economy thrive.
We have also fought for out communities by challenging the government on the cuts. We will continue to put forward the case for what is needed to support our residents and businesses.
