Tower Hamlets Informal Parking survey results: Zone B2 & B4
We carried out an informal survey on parking in zones B4 and B2 to give residents and businesses the chance to share their views about extending the consultation to zone B1 afterward.
The main reason for the informal survey was that, with significant development on the eastern edge of Tower Hamlets, particularly resulting from the development of the nearby Olympic Park, Westfield, West Ham Football Club and new housing schemes, some residents and businesses have expressed concerns about the pressure on parking.
As a result, we carried out this survey to gather wider views of residents and businesses.
- Number of letters sent to residents and businesses: 955
- Number of responses received: 55
- Total response rate received: 5.76 per cent
- Number of letters sent to residents and businesses: 12,068
- Number of responses received: 1,059
- Total response rate received: 8.7 per cent
The response rate for Zone B2 was 8.7 per cent and of those that responded 47.1 per cent said that they were satisfied with the current parking restrictions. The response rate for B4 was 5.76 per cent and of those that responded 44.5 per cent said they were satisfied with the current parking restrictions.
Based on the low response rate and the lack of support for any changes to the current parking restrictions, the Council has decided not to proceed to a formal statutory survey for parking zones B2 & B4.
As a result, we have decided not to proceed with the informal parking survey for parking zone B1.
We would like to thank residents and businesses for taking the time to complete the informal parking survey questionnaire and providing us with your feedback.
