Private Sector Renewal policy consultation
The council adopted a Private Sector Renewal Policy 2016–18 which was approved by the Mayor in Cabinet in April 2016.
The current policy can be viewed on the private sector housing grant.
The policy covers the conditions attached to Disabled Facilities Grants, Home Repairs Grants for owner occupiers and Empty Property Grants.
The council is now consulting on changes to the current policy for consideration by the Mayor in Cabinet in March 2018.
The consultation will run from Wednesday 15 November to Wednesday 10 January 2018.
Much of the policy will remain the same but comments are welcome on a number of proposed changes to extend the number of areas that Disabled Facilities Grants can be spent on and an increase in the amount of grant available for Home Repair and Empty Property Grants.
The changes to the scope of Disabled Facility Grants are enabled under the Regulatory Reform Order, details of which can be viewed on Foundations website.
These changes are set out in the proposed changes document.
