Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) strategy consultation

Tower Hamlets are refreshing the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) strategy. The different strands of VAWG are:

  • domestic abuse
  • sexual abuse
  • female genital mutilation
  • stalking and harassment
  • prostitution and trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation
  • 'honour' based violence
  • forced marriage and child sexual exploitation.

VAWG disproportionately affects women and girls, however, we know that men and boys can also experience this violence.

Tower Hamlets are committed to ending VAWG and it is a priority to make Tower Hamlets a borough our residents are proud of and love to live in. We want to do this by making safer neighbourhoods for everyone.

Tower Hamlets want the experiences and knowledge of professionals and service users to shape the strategy, so please be honest and complete as many answers as you can.

All responses are anonymous, however if you wish, you can include which organisation you work for within your answers to give context to your responses.
