Changes to recycling and food waste collections

Recycling collection days are changing from 8 April

Due to significant growth in recycling and to improve our service, it has become necessary to change the recycling collection rounds. The collection days will be changing from 8 April 2019.

If you live in a house or receive a weekly collection from your front door you will receive a letter notifying you of your new collection day. Please note, letters will only be sent to those properties affected

What is happening?

The recycling, food and garden waste collection days have been re-scheduled to accommodate significant growth in recycling and to improve our service.

When is the change taking place?

The new collection days will go live from week commencing Monday 8 April 2019.

Are many residents affected?

Yes, in order to even out the work across the rounds and days of the week there are many properties that will have a day change.

If I live in a block of flats will I be affected too?

Many blocks of flats will have day changes for their recycling collection. Your landlord/managing agent/caretaker will be notified of any day change affecting your property. Please continue to use your recycling bins as normal.

Are other people/customers affected by the changes?

Yes, there may be day changes for some of our schools and charity organisation customers. If your property/ location is affected you will be sent a letter notifying you of your day change.

How will I be notified of any day change for my property?

If you live in a street level property you will be notified by letter if your collection day is changing. Your new day of collection will be stated in the letter. If your collection day is not changing you will not be sent a letter.

If you live in a block of flats your landlord/managing agent/caretaker will be provided with the details of any day changes for your property. 

What do I do if my collection is missed?

 All street and waste related calls are handled by our Streetline team along with our waste contractor Veolia. Once the call is logged, we will investigate the reported issue as soon as we can.
