East End Energy Fit
The East End Energy Fit team provide help and advice to reduce and manage energy bills and heat your home. They also provide:
- support for those struggling with arrears on water, gas or electricity bills.
- access to energy efficiency advice, including how to heat you home more effectively, check your tariff or change your supplier.
- help to meet one off expenses for essential items; where not having essential white goods, beds or mattresses affecting your living circumstances.

Home Heat Helpline
The Home Heat helpline advises people worried about paying their energy bills and keeping warm during the winter. It also gives advice to low income households in urgent need of heating help and advice. It is free to call and is open 9am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Citizens Advice Bureau
The Citizens Advice Bureau help people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Energy Saving Trust
Energy Saving Trust provides information and advice on subjects including:
- heating and hot water
- electricity use, green electricity, and energy-efficient products and appliances
- generating renewable energy
- finding and starting community projects
- energy-saving travel and transport

uSwitch is an online and telephone comparison and switching service that helps you to compare prices on a range of products and services such as gas and electric, telephone services, broadband, insurance etc. Significant saving can be made by switching suppliers for common household services.

Cold weather payment
Some people who receive benefits can also get a cold weather payment of £25 if the temperature drops below freezing in their local area for seven days in a row. You don't need to apply – if you are eligible it will be paid automatically in the same way that people receive their benefits.
Winter fuel payment
If you were born on or before July 5, 1952 (for winter 2014 to 2015 - this date changes every year), you may get a Winter Fuel Payment to help with winter heating costs. This will be paid in the same way your benefit or pension is paid. If you’ve not received a Winter Fuel Payment before, phone the Winter Fuel Payments helpline on 0845 915 1515 to apply.
