Reducing Parental Conflict/We All Have Arguments

Arguments are common in all kinds of relationships. It is healthy to argue, as long as both people are able to express their feelings in a way that resolves issues, rather than keeping everything inside and letting issues build up.

If you are regularly having disagreements that are not resolved, these can lead to more intense arguments which can cause parental conflict and lead to family breakdown, which can have a negative impact on your child/children.Angry child and parents

  • Early Help Hub for advice 020 7364 5006 and select Option two. The Early Help Hub are the first point of contact for children, families and young people who can help, advise and support in dealing with difficult situations.
  • Children and Family Centres for information on sessions and services offered at the 12 centres in the borough.
  • Young People's Service works with children, young people, and families to improve young people’s well-being and their personal and social development.
  • Parenting programmes are a source of support for all parents and carers and offer an opportunity to share parenting experiences, develop a greater understanding of child development, build positive relationships and learn skills to deal with challenging behaviour.
  • Early Education and Childcare supports organisations and prospective Child Minders in providing childcare for working and training parents and carers.
  • 1plus1 for advice from an online forum where you can share your questions and stories with other parents
