Makaton
Many of our adults with learning disability are not able to express their needs and wishes. We use Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems (AAC) which include Makaton, Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS) and Objects of Reference.
We have licensed and trained professionals as well as skilled Makaton peers Tutors to support and improve your communication.
Makaton is a unique language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to allow people to communicate. Makaton transforms the lives of people with communication difficulties, by:
- giving them a way to express themselves independently,
- helping them to build confidence and
- social inclusion.
